Artistic Anatomy Hybrid Course

This hybrid course includes asynchronous lessons along with zoom and in-person meetings. 

 

Offered in partnership with the National Artistic Anatomy 

Society. 

 

Artists, from Middle School to Adult, with a passion for learning artistic anatomy, are invited to earn a prestigious Certificate in Artistic Anatomy, jointly certified by Heath Art, and the National Artistic Anatomy Society (NAAS).

 

This selective program is designed to recognize artistic dedication and skill

development in the area of artistic anatomy. To qualify, students must successfully complete one, 24 week course, offered by Heath Art during the 2026-27 academic year.

 

Students are responsible for all art materials. 

 

Certificate Program in Artistic Anatomy 

Course Requirements:

  • Build a 15” standing figure sculpture of the human bones and muscles 

  • Create an anatomy sketchbook 

  • Draw along with step-by-step, anatomy video demonstrations of the skeleton and major muscle areas.

  • Draw the skeleton and major muscle areas from memory during the anatomy midterm and anatomy final, drawing exams.

 

Asynchronous lessons:

Asynchronous course work will take place each week through Google Classroom where students will access video demo lectures, and submit updated assignments.

 

Zoom Meetings:

Zoom meetings will take place each term and will be determined as needed.

 

In-person meetings:

In-person meetings will take place 9/24/26 sculpture armature construction, 2/4/27 Midterm Exam, 3/4/27 Final Exam, 6-8pm, Paint Creek Center For The Arts, 407 Pine St., Rochester, MI  48307

 

 

(Students are responsible for all art materials.)

 

When: Begins 9/24/26

              Ends     5/20/27

 

Fall Term

9/24, 10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 11/5, 11/12, 11/19, (No Class Oct. 29)

 

Winter Term

1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 2/4, 2/11, 2/18, 2/25, 3/4.

 

Spring Term

3/11, 3/18, 4/15, 4/22, 4/29, 5/6, 5/13, 5/20.

 

All dates listed above are asynchronous. 

 

Tuition

 

Certificate in Artistic Anatomy 

Successfully complete all three terms, and receive the Heath Art

"Certificate in Artistic Anatomy", certified jointly by Heath Art and the 

National Artistic Anatomy Society.

$2400.00 total for certificate 

 

Auditing this course 

If a student is interested in auditing this course,  the sculpture and drawing exams are not required, and the Certificate in Artistic Anatomy will not be available.

Tuition: $1800.00

 

 

Receive a $200.00 discount when paying for an entire year in advance.
